Michael Manini is named Michael after his Kupuna Kane (Grandfather) who taught him everything about paddling his Wa’akaukahi (outrigger canoe), and Manini after the small coral reef fish in the Pacific Ocean. Michael Manini is a Menehune Keiki Kane (Boy).

Paddling his outrigger canoe in the calm bays of Punalu’u Black Sands Beach is his greatest pleasure.

 

Michael Manini wears red cotton shorts with a fish design matching his sail, a shell necklace, and a green crocheted King Kamehameha Helmet with matching shoes. He is about 3.5” tall. His Wa’akaukahi (outrigger canoe) is made out of wood and tied with raffia. He is holding his wooden paddle.

 

 

Michael Manini has a unique personality. His canoe is signed and dated. He comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Often Michael Manini meets his Menehune Kaukinis (cousins), Wiliwili and Kihikihi, at Punalu’u Black Sands Beach. All day long they laugh and play in the ocean together until it is time to go home and eat dinner.
