Honu Boy (Turtle Boy) Birthdate: Julai 21, 2009 (07/21/2009) Honu Boy is a Menehune Keiki Kane (Boy). Honu Boy was just starting to eat his Mai’a (Banana) when he fell asleep. He is dreaming about the Honu (Turtle) who is his Aumakua (guardian spirit) Honu Boy is deeply connected with the ancient wisdom of the Turtle. He knows that his Aumakua will guide and protect him for the rest of his life.

Honu Boy is about 3.5” tall. He is dressed in a crocheted red and yellow King Kamehameha helmet with a matching loin cloth and shoes. His body is made out of stretch cotton. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto his face. Honu Boy wears a Hawaiian Kukui Nut Lei around his neck.

The coconut for Honu Boy’s cradle was selected from palm trees at Punalu’u Black Sands Beach. It is hand carved, sanded, polished, and fit to a custom bamboo base.
