Kaiholena & Nene

Birth Date: Iulai 21, 2013 (07-21-2013)

Chanting to the sacred beat of her Ipu (gourd), Menehune girl Kaiholena honors the ancestors in the enchanting Kaiholena Valley in the secluded mountains of Kau on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Baby Nene (Hawaiian Goose) waddles along happily. She is Kaiholena’s Aumakua (guardian spirit)

Companionably they walk through the beautiful, serene Ohia and Koa forest, where the spirits of the ancestors reside.

Kaiholena is all dressed up in the new pretty orange overalls Tutu (grandmother) sewed for her. She is waiting for her big brother, Makanau.

Every Sunday he takes her for a walk to her favorite place, the sacred Heiau (Altar) of Kahiolena. There Kaiholena prays and worships the beauty of Hawaii.

Kaiholena includes everybody she loves into her Pules (prayers). She prays for peace, harmony, happiness, and abundance.

The Hawaiian Ipu grows on a vine. Tutu (grandmother) picked the most beautiful of the Ipus for Kaiholena. She cleaned, polished and decorated it with the Hawaiian Kupukupu ferns . It was her sacred gift of Aloha (Love) to her Mo’opuna (granddaughter) and became Kaiholena’s most treasured possession

Kaiholena is about 3.5” tall fitting in the palm of your hand. Nene is about 1” tall. The bodies are made out of stretch cotton and wired for flexibility. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto the face. Kaiholena has tiny little hands and feet, ears, buttocks, and a belly button.

All of Kaiholena’s and Nene’s accessories were individually handcrafted.

Kaiholena and Nene are one of a kind collectible display dolls handcrafted by Hawaiian Dolls.

They come with their story and a certificate of authenticity.

Kaiholena's prayers are filled with the spritual power of Hawaii.
