His cheerful Mana (Spiritual Energy) brightens up the day with love and laughter. Moloka’i is named after the friendly Hawaiian Isle, also known as the ‘Land of Abundance’ and ‘Powerful Prayer’. Living Hawaii’s Aloha spirit, Moloka’i and Honu are walking into the village with big smiles on their faces! The Menehunes clap their hands in delight, begging for some more of Moloka’i’s delightful music. The enchanting sound of the Ukulele accompanies his songs about the Ohana (family), Hawaiian animals, the forest, the ocean, and the stars in the Universe. Celebrating Hawaii’s Aloha spirit, the Menehunes dance through the forest to the rhythm of Moloka’i’s wonderful music. Moloka’i glows with happiness. Honu is Moloka’i’s Aumakua (guardian spirit). Moloka’i is deeply connected with the ancient wisdom of Honu. Moloka’i and Honu are so closely connected that they have become inseparable friends. |

Moloka’i’s Tutu (grandmother) sewed his lavalava (wraparound) out of green cotton with a turtle design. She crocheted yellow underwear and matching shoes. Last she wove a Lauhala hat and adorned it with a Hulu (feather) lei to protect Moloka’i from the sun when he plays his Ukulele. The Ukulele was Kuku’s (grandfather’s) gift of lasting love and Aloha to his Mo’opuna Kane (grandson). It is Moloka’i’s most cherished possession. He holds it even when he goes to sleep. |

Moloka’i is about 7” tall and Honu is about 3.5” long. She is made out of faux fur and partially crocheted. Moloka’I and Honu were individually handcrafted on the Big Island of Hawaii with the greatest love and respect for all that is Hawaii. Moloka’i’s body is made out of doll skin and stuffed with high quality poly fill. The body is wired for flexibility. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto the face. All accessories were individually hand crafted. Moloka’i is not a dress up doll. All clothing and accessories are sewn and/or glued onto him. |
